Mapping Attachments to Invoices
Mapping an attachment takes transaction attachments a giant step further.
File Attachments for Transactions

After uploading a multi-page PDF, you can map specific pages to individual transactions to create transaction-level PDFs so your financial institution can view them in Funding Center. For example, specific pages of an uploaded 6-page PDF can be split for 3 transactions to create 3 transaction-specific PDFs:
- Pages 1 and 2 are mapped to transaction #111
- Pages 3 and 4 are mapped to transaction #222
- Pages 5 and 6 are mapped to transaction #333
All you do is tell the system which pages are related to a transaction. In this example, after the attachment file is mapped and the transactions are submitted, each transaction has its own 2-page PDF attachment in Transaction Details.

ACCESS
New Transaction (left navigation pane) > Upload Attachment File
You can upload files from two locations (Archive and New Transaction) for secure file sharing with your financial institution, but New Transaction is a shortcut when you want to map a file to specific transactions. A file for mapping must be a PDF uploaded within the last 7 days to the Sales > Invoice category/type.
Uploading an attachment file to be mapped to transactions
- From New Transaction, in the New Transaction section, click Upload Attachment File.
- Click Choose File to browse for a file.
- Enter an optional description.
- The category (Sales) and document type (Invoice) are selected by default to make the file available for mapping to transactions.
- Click Save.
- From the Attach File confirmation, click OK.
NOTE
Uploaded files are also available to the financial institution in Funding Center’s Business Archive.

ACCESS
New Transaction (left navigation pane) > scroll down to Unsubmitted Transactions > click Map Attachments
PDF files can only be mapped for unsubmitted transactions. However, you can add file attachments for other purposes any time.
Mapping a PDF file to unsubmitted transactions
- From New Transaction, scroll down to Unsubmitted Transactions.
- Click Map Attachments.
- From the Manage Attachments popup, select a transaction.
- Click the relevant attachment file to view the thumbnail pages. (If needed, click a page thumbnail to enlarge and then click the enlargement to downsize it.)
- Select the check boxes for the specific pages to map to the selected transaction.
TIP
You can select a different attachment if needed. To prevent the popup from closing while you are still working, do not click Save until you are finished selecting pages for each transaction.
- Repeat steps 3 – 5 as needed for additional transactions.
- Click Save.
Editing mapped file attachments
Before submitting, you can change the mapped file and page selections for a transaction. Mapped file names are displayed as “(Pending)” for transactions in Unsubmitted status. The actual PDF(s) for each transaction is created (with only the selected/mapped pages) after a transaction is submitted. You can view the mapped PDF(s) in Transaction Details.
- From New Transaction > Unsubmitted Transactions, click Map Attachments.
- From the Manage Attachments popup, select the transaction. (The attachment file’s name displays the mapped page numbers in parentheses.)
- Click the attachment file to view the thumbnail pages. (If needed, click a page thumbnail to enlarge and then click the enlargement to downsize it.)
- Select or clear the check boxes for the specific pages to map to the selected transaction.
- Optional: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any other attachment files.
- Click Save.
Deleting mapped file attachments
When you “delete” a mapped file attachment, you are removing the mapping and canceling the creation of a transaction-level PDF, but the original uploaded PDF file remains in the list and available to be mapped for a total of 7 days.
- From New Transaction > Unsubmitted Transactions, click the transaction’s
attachment icon.
- From the Transaction Attachments popup, under Attachments, click the attachment’s Delete link.
- From the Delete Attachment confirmation, click Delete.
NOTE
Files are stored in the Archive. If you want to remove a file permanently, go to Archive > Edit Document > Delete.
