About Payment Sources

The payment processor uses these sources to classify each payment.

Classification Description Payment Sources

  • Electronic Payment (C) - includes any type of electronic payment to an account the business cannot access. Note: Use this payment source for credit card payments directed to an FI-controlled account.
  • From Lockbox (C) - customer sends payment directly to FI lockbox address.

Noncompliant

The payment goes through or is handled by the business.

  • Business Payment (NC) - business sends a check from their own account to the financial institution; this is a violation of the BusinessManager Agreement.
  • Credit Card (NC) - includes payments directed to a business-controlled account. Note: For credit card payments to an FI-controlled account, select Electronic Payment (C).
  • Customer to Business (NC) - customer pays business, which forwards payment to financial institution.
  • Electronic Payment (NC) - any noncompliant electronic payment.
  • Other – Electronic (NC) - use this source if there are multiple accounts for noncompliant electronic payments. For example, if accounts DDA-1234 and ACH-1234 are both used for noncompliant payments, you can set the payment source to Other - Electronic (NC) to debit the ACH-1234 account.
